Born Again – John 3: 1-17
Key Verse: 3 Jesus replied, “Very truly I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again.”
Our lesson this week carries on the theme of Lent. During the Lenten Season we should take time to reflect on the true meaning of the cross. Jesus talks about being ‘born again’ in this week’s lesson. Nicodemus did not understand what Jesus meant and it is possible that we don’t understand it either. Being ‘born again’ means to accept Christ as our Lord and Saviour inviting the Holy Spirit to come into our hearts to guide us so we can make the necessary changes to live as God expects us to. The thing is we sometimes fall short of God’s expectations but we have the opportunity to repent and correct ourselves. This is why Jesus died on the cross; He made that ultimate sacrifice for us. 16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. While we are giving things up for Lent, also think about taking up this amazing blessing that God is offering us through His son Jesus Christ. The chance to be ‘born again’, let Jesus in.
Have a blessed week
