God’s Glory – John 9: 1-41
Key Verse: 3 “Neither this man nor his parents sinned,” said Jesus, “but this happened so that the works of God might be displayed in him.
Very often the trials of life can get the better of us such as the recent virus pandemic; we begin to wonder who has sinned. We ask ourselves is this punishment for the wrong we have done. Jesus reassured His disciples that neither the blind man nor his parents sinned but that the glory of God must shine through in difficult times. To heal the blind man, Jesus used mud made from His spit to put on the man’s eyes, then told him to go wash in a smelly river; none of which was particularly pleasant. 6 After saying this, he spit on the ground, made some mud with the saliva, and put it on the man’s eyes. 7 “Go,” he told him, “wash in the Pool of Siloam” (this word means “Sent”). So the man went and washed, and came home seeing. Recent events have been quite muddy; but let us continue to pray that the glory of God will shine through in this our troubled times.
Have a blessed week and stay safe
